MEAGAN NICHOLLS

Director and Speech Pathologist

Meagan is the owner and principle Speech Pathologist of Can Speak. She is the mother of two (and can appreciate how busy life with children can be). She has a passion for working with children; in particular her special areas of interest are working to develop strong literacy skills in all children and enabling children to have a voice through the use of alternate, augmentative communication (AAC).

When she is not working, Meagan enjoys spending time with her family and walking her dog. She is also an avid reader and board game enthusiast.

BEC CONDON

Head of Speech

Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) | Certified Practising Speech Pathologist | M.S.P.A

Bec has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) from the University of Sydney. Bec values working in partnership with children, families, teachers and other health professionals to help people develop their communication skills and ability to positively participate in the wider community. During her time at Can Speak Canberra Speech Pathology, Bec has established a thorough understanding of children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech impairments and literacy difficulties. Bec is focused on working closely with her families in developing and achieving personally relevant goals based on their daily communication needs. Bec currently works with her clients in clinic, school and home settings.

Outside of work, Bec enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading and playing social sport.

FIONA GLAVICH

Speech Pathologist

Master of Speech and Language Pathology | Certified Practising Speech Pathologist | M.S.P.A

Fiona has a Master of Speech and Language Pathology from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (Psychology) (Honours) from the Australian National University.  She has experience delivering assessment and therapy across a broad spectrum of communication needs throughout the lifespan. Fiona has particular interest working with children with complex communication needs. She has experience working with a diverse range of devices, and has developed individualised low-technology systems for vision impairments and physical impairments. Fiona enjoys using her knowledge of the English language to help children learning to read and write, and is passionate about delivering evidence-based literacy intervention.

OLIVIA COWELL

Speech Pathologist

Olivia is a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia who graduated with a Bachelor of Speech and Language Therapy from Massey University in New Zealand. She has spent the last five years in Australia working with families and perfecting her accent (and still has some work to do!).

Olivia has extensive experience working with children and young adults with communication delays and disorders in a range of settings including disability, education and family support. Olivia prides herself on making therapy sessions fun, engaging and functional to gain the best outcomes for clients.

JACQUI BARWICK

Speech Pathologist

Master of Speech Pathology | Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist | M.S.P.A

Jacqui has a Master of Speech Pathology from Griffith University, a Graduate Certificate of Speech and Communication from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Canberra. She has experience assessing and providing therapy for children with a range of communication needs but especially enjoys working with children with speech sound concerns. Jacqui currently works as a mobile therapist; predominantly seeing children in schools.

She is a mother to two young, energetic children and enjoys spending  time with family and friends, getting outdoors and reading (always with a cup of tea in hand).

ABI KO

Speech Pathologist

Abi obtained a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the Ateneo de Davao University. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and aims to keep sessions fun and functional. She has experience working across a broad range of communication needs from working with clients with speech sound errors to helping clients use alternative, augmentative communication (AAC). Abi has a passion for helping clients to build literacy and higher-level language skills, such as inferencing and written composition.

Abi has additional qualifications in:

JUANITA RUBEN

Speech Pathologist

Juanita is a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia who graduated with a Master of Speech Pathology from Griffith University. She has experience in assessing and providing intervention for children with a broad range of communication needs from speech and language to augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) as well as working with children with feeding difficulties. Juanita has a passion for working with preschool and school-aged children and enjoys incorporating their interests in making therapy fun and functional in order to achieve goals.

SARAH TOIGO

Speech Pathologist

Master of Speech Pathology | Bachelor of Health Sciences | Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist | M.S.P.A

Sarah has a Master of Speech Pathology Studies and Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Queensland. She enjoys working with clients of all ages, particularly getting to know each person individually and finding ways to make their sessions fun and rewarding. Sarah values working alongside clients and their families to achieve their communication goals, and believes every small achievement should be celebrated.

Outside of work you can find Sarah catching up with friends, exploring the outdoors, baking, and tending to her ever-expanding plant collection.

NATACHA FASEL-MURPHY (TASH)

Speech Pathologist

Master of Speech Pathology | Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist | M.S.P.A

Tash obtained a Master of Speech Pathology from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Science from UNSW. She has experience working in private practice with children between the ages of 10 months – 16 years of age and has worked across the areas of early intervention, feeding, speech and language, social communication and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). Tash is passionate about caregiver coaching and empowering children to advocate for their communication needs.

XIAOJIAN LIN (JASCY)

Speech Pathologist

Jascy is a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia who graduated with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology from University of Canberra. Jascy enjoys working with children of all ages with speech, language and fluency (stuttering) difficulties, in close collaboration with families. Jascy loves to make sessions fun and meaningful in order to achieve client/family-centered goals and optimize therapeutic outcomes. Growing up in China, Jascy also speaks fluent Mandarin, Fuqingnese and Fuzhounese (Foochow).

HILDA LEE

Speech Pathologist

Master of Speech and Language Pathology | Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist | M.S.P.A

A certified practising speech pathologist, Hilda obtained her degree from the University of Canberra and is also a high school English teacher. Hilda is SoundsWrite trained and enjoys working with children and teenagers to improve their overall social and communication skills.  She understands the importance of relationship building with clients and their families, especially when setting achievable goals for therapy. Hilda is most tempted by delectable foods, being a tourist, and refreshing swims at the beach.


ANNIE FONG

Speech Pathologist

Master of Speech and Language Pathology | Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist | M.S.P.A

Annie obtained a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra. During her studies, Annie discovered her passion for working with children. She always strives to create a safe and enjoyable therapy environment for her clients and families.

Annie loves travelling and has stayed in various places around the globe. In 2018, she was attracted by the friendliness of the people and beautiful scenery in Australia and decided to move to Australia from Hong Kong to start a new journey. Annie loves enjoying good food, reading, and meditation to keep her inner peace outside of work.

ELLEN HOUSE

Allied Health Assistant

Ellen is currently studying a Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Canberra. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Languages) degree from the University of Sydney, where she studied linguistics, Spanish and Indonesian. She brings her love of languages to her role as an Allied Health Assistant and enjoys working with children of all ages. In her free time, Ellen enjoys reading, playing board games, practicing her language skills, playing hockey, and travelling.

ELENI TRICOLAS

Allied Health Assistant

Eleni is currently studying a Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Canberra. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from the University of Canberra where she majored in applied psychology and counselling. When she’s not at the clinic, Eleni works as a disability support worker which she is very passionate about. Eleni loves games and will often find a way to incorporate them into therapy to make it fun.  In her spare time, Eleni enjoys yoga, dancing and spending time with her friends, family and pets.


GRACE BENNETT

Allied Health Assistant

Grace is currently studying a Master of Speech Pathology at Federation University Australia. She has a Bachelor of Languages from the Australian National University, where she studied linguistics, French and Spanish. After working with kids in various capacities for several years, she combines her loves of communication and working with children together in her sessions by focusing on play-based learning. In her free time, Grace loves spending time with her friends and family, reading, travelling and baking.


JOHN NICHOLLS

Director and Business Manager

John is the co-owner and business manager for Can Speak. John enjoys working with computers, playing board games, browsing Bunnings for tools (and a sausage sizzle), and has a massive sweet tooth.

John is a proud father of two, and therefore has great pleasure in supplying the best (worst?) dad jokes to anyone who will listen.
